Patrick Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Hey all, If you're in Southern California like me, you may be dealing with the wildfires. Just wanted to start a thread for any members in the region. Hope you're doing alright. We evacuated on Wednesday night, after our apartment was put in the warning area for the Sunset Fire. We returned Thursday afternoon and all is well here. We're very fortunate, but know folks who were not. I'm including a picture of the fire from our apartment. Stay safe, Patrick Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? KarateKen Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Definitely been thinking about you! Stay safe and good luck in this horrid disastrous mess. 1
Zaine Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I'm happy to hear that you are safe, Patrick! This tragedy has been on my mind. 1 Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
sensei8 Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) So relieved that you, Kara, and PJ are safe. My prayers for all that are being devastated by these wildfires and to the families that have lost a loved one. That picture is very scary and by only Gods grace, the winds didn’t go your way. Santa Ana winds are still blowing strong, which is a legend in Southern California. Edited January 15 by sensei8 1 **Proof is on the floor!!!
Patrick Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 Thanks KarateKen, Zaine, and Bob! That means a lot. Things are progressing, but the fires still aren't at 100% containment. The Eaton Fire is at 89% and the Palisades Fire is at 63%. Right now, we are forecasted to have some rain this weekend and that would be amazing both for the fires and for air quality. Very strange, indeed. I remember being told once how the locals in Houston freaked out our a snowstorm that dumped 1” of snow. First of all, 1” to me is not a snowstorm. Why were they freaking out?? There wasn’t one snow shovel to be had that year…snow shovels are more readily available now in Houston. **Proof is on the floor!!!

My friend in Austin said they got snow as well. 1
