Watched SMILE tonight as a friends recommendation.  Good movie, very creepy.  Then I read that the sequel is coming out in October.

It is that time of year again as we start the fall, the weather cools off, and Halloween is coming up.  My favorite time of the year!

With Halloween only a few days away I am going back through the classic movies.  Watching Halloween 3 tonight.  A strange film that is different from the others because there is no Michael Meyers.  The original plan for the movie series was that Meyers was going to be done after the sequel, then for Halloween 4 the filmmakers decided to bring him back, so there is this weird Halloween 3 movie that is out of left field.  I like the movie, but it is nothing like anything else in the Halloween series.

I heard some thoughts about that movie this past week; it should have been a different title, with the addendum of "A Halloween Story," or something like that.  Then the expectations wouldn't have been so high for it, and it might have been better received.

I agree with all of that.

It's October again so I am bringing this one back.  Watched The Fog tonight since it was cool, windy, and rainy with some fog in the sky.  It's a John Carpenter movie from 1980.  I liked it, and I am going back this year to watch a lot of those movies from the 80s.

Happy Halloween

We watched Night of the Zoopacalypse recently. When I heard about it, it was pitched as a horror movie for kids, so we watched it with our 3-year-old. It was good, kept our attention.

But as far as horror goes, I recently watched Until Dawn, Friendship and Freaky Tales - I feel like the last two are debatably horror, but it looks like they are considered to be by some. Sinners, Y2K, and Trap a bit before that, earlier in the year. I liked them all. Friendship was super uncomfortable, haha. Freaky Tales was fun.

Watched a low budge horror movie last night called 13 Cameras.   It's about a young married couple who moves into a new home and the repair man is a total creep.  Not gory or scary, but creepy and suspenseful.

This afternoon I watched the original Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. Those were the good old monster movies.
