The Utah Hockey Club is now the Utah Mammoth.  Pretty good name, great color combo and I like the logo.  The NHL more than other sports has a trend of team names that do not end in S, we had a new one with the Kraken a few years ago and now another new one with the Mammoth, which is an upgrade from Hockey Club, also lacking the S.

Dallas joins the group of three teams that won the opening game on the road in the round.  Toronto won against Florida and has a 2-0 lead in that series.  Capitals and Golden Knights try to even things up on their home ice Thursday, Hurricanes and Oilers try to go up 2-0 before heading back home.  Big games!

At one point, my Knights are taking care of business against the Oilers. That was until the 3rd quarter.

WHAM!! The Oilers became focused and snatched the momentum away from my Knights.

5 comeback wins?!? Who are these Oilers?!? HERE FOR A REASON, that’s who they are!!

My Knights have to dominate the 3rd quarter…not lose the momentum…FOCUS…because my Knights don’t want to be down 2-0 on Oilers ice.

They need to generate more offense if they are going to win this series, they had the same issue early on against Minnesota.  I expect Vegas to have a strong performance tonight.  Enjoy the game!

Another 3 goals in one quarter…the 2nd quarter this time for the Oilers!!

Tough loss for the Knights, they had chances.  They killed off a 5-minute power play in overtime, impressive, but then the two big guys for the Oilers got a fast break.  As I saw that develop, I thought to myself "it's over" and a moment later it was.  Also, a big missed penalty by the refs on the Oilers right before that, should have been an OTPP for Vegas, clearly a trip.  McNabb might be out for a while too.  Roy was fined over 7k for his cross check in the game, he was not suspended. Your Knights will get a chance to win on Saturday but will have to do it on the road.  It appears no lead is safe against the Oilers, who have come back to win six games in a row. 

Panthers are back in the series against the Leafs, though it wasn't looking great for a while.  They were down 3-1 and came back to win 5-4 in overtime.  Leafs lead the series 2-1, game four Sunday.  Jets beat the Stars to even that series at 1-1, game three on Sunday.

As much as I hate to admit it, it’s all over for my Knights!! Oilers are a better team, for the moment, than my Knights!!

GAME 3, on Oilers ice, goes to my Knights with the final score of 4-3.

Knights still trail in this series 2-1. I’m not getting excited over this win because it’s just 1 win for my Knights, and there’s still a lot of playing to do in front of both teams especially my Knights.

Game 3 was a great battle on the ice!!

The Oilers had 6 consecutive comeback wins coming into this game. 2 multi-goal comebacks. 3 3rd period comebacks. Longest streak in Stanly Cup playoffs history.

What does all of this mean?? That the Oilers are a team to be reckoned with and taking very seriously.

Corey Perry of the Oilers is the oldest player in Oilers history with a multi-goal playoff games. 

Tonight my Knights scored 2 goals in 54 seconds in the 1st quarter. Kind of took the wind out of the Oilers sails for that moment.

Karlsson made the go-ahead goal in the 3rd quarter. Hill had 17 saves on 19 shots.

It’s that winning goal for my Knights with only 0.4 seconds remaining in the game that got my attention when the puck deflected in the net off an Oilers stick. What a winning goal that was!!

Game 4 will be this Monday on Oilers ice…puck drop at 6:30pm pacific time.

Panthers have evened up the series with the Leafs after a 2-0 win, now they go back to Toronto.  It is the complete opposite of the Knights/Oilers series, every game has been won by the home team.  Both home teams win today, Stars beat the Jets and lead the series 2-1.  

Two game fours on Monday, Knights at Oilers and Capitals at Hurricanes.  In either series a team can have a big 3-1 series lead, or they will be tied 2-2.
