Calgary, Utah, Winnipeg, Vegas, and Dallas are all 3-0-0, still on the chase for the undefeated 82-0-0 season. The Oilers have three games in the bag and not a point to show for it. No need to panic with 79 games left, but another slow start for Edmonton. If you recall they had a bad start last season, fired the coach, then made it to the finals where they were down 3-0 and came back to force a 7th game. Way too soon to count them out even though they are at the bottom of the league right now. Capitals, Avs, and Predators are also pointless, but have played fewer games. Washington is only 0-1 and does not play until Tuesday. Colorado will have a chance to get on the board on Monday when they play the Islanders. Four undefeated teams left. Another high scoring game today as Ottawa beat the LA Kings 8-7 in overtime. Lots of goals here early in the season. He is the 15th goalie in NHL history to score a goal. Dallas remains undefeated now at 4-0 after a shootout win against San Jose. Calgary is the early season surprise, and they win again tonight, now 4-0. Vegas has fallen from the unbeaten, losing in Washington 4-2, first points of the season for the Capitals. No goals for Ovi but he did have two assists, putting him at 700 for his career. Seattle spanked Nashville 7-3, while Florida, Tampa Bay, and Carolina were also winners.
