What a banger of a game to start the series.  Carolina scores 25 seconds into the game, first shot of the series is a goal, and then they add another one to go up 2-0.  However, Vegas did what they have done all post season, they got better as the game went on.  They got the next three goals, then Carolina scored to tie it at 3-3.  Back and forth all night. IT was 4-3 Vegas, then Carolina tied it after an icing call that Vegas was furious about.  The game winner was by Hertle and Vegas wins the first game, doing it in comeback fashion on the road.  If this game is a sample of what this entire series will be, it will be a wild SCF.

Game two is on Thursday and even though puck drops in under 48 hours, that feels like a long time from now!

In a sad note, former NHL player Claude Lemieux committed suicide last week. He was 60 years old.  His brain has been donated to the Boston CTE Center and is expected t be used to do further research on CTE and head injuries.

Lemieux was a tough, accomplished NHL player, and one of the most hated.  Especially his rivalry with the Red Wings in the mid 90s where he developed a reputation of being a dirty player.  He won the Cup four times.  Once with Montreal (the team that drafted him) once with Colorado, and twice with New Jersey.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup goes to my Knights with a final score of 5-4 on Hurricane ice!!

WHAT A GAME!!

GO KNIGHTS!!

:D

Just saw a stat that you are going to like...the Knights became the first road team in NHL history to be behind by two goals and win game one of the SCF.  Road teams were 0-55 in NHL history when behind by two goals in the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals.

I think we are going to see a lot of one goal games in this series, these teams are well matched.

Yes; I do like that stat. Hurricane won’t be swept by my Knights especially with what I saw in game 1 of the SCF.

Vegas is a 2 and 2 pro-sports town!! The WNBA Aces and NHL Knights are 2 of this towns winners. NFL Raiders and MLB A’s are 2 of this towns losers.

GO KNIGHTS!!

First two games of the Stanley Cup Finals have been insane.  Vegas had a 2-0 lead after two periods. Carolina comes back to take a 3-2 lead. Vegas ties it to go into OT where Carolina wins it 4-3 and ties the series.  Game three will be huge. It will be Saturday, June 6, in Vegas.

For most of the game, Howden was on fire  being the only player that knew how to make the puck into the Hurricanes net by scoring twice. Stone finally joined Howden by scoring late in the 3rd quarter, tying the game 3-3.

McNabb took a 87mph puck to his face at 20:53; luckily the puck hit his visor but…OUCH!! He wore flip-flops on his was to the hospital. No word yet about if he’ll play in game #3.

Like Ken said above, Hurricanes win game #2 in OT. That’s fine. I thought for sure that my Knights was going to return to hone ice with a 2-0 lead but that’s not to be so.

Here’s where I shake my head in disbelief. Hurricanes had a lot of shots but couldn’t find the Knights net the whole entire game until late in the 3rd quarter. I don’t buy that!! What? All of a sudden the Hurricanes get 3 nets quickly…the Knights all of a sudden can’t defend the ice…all of a sudden Hart can’t block the Knights net…all of a sudden a tripping violation that ends up a goal?!?

Rigged…Rigged…Rigged!!

Let’s see how game 3 ends up and let’s see if the Knights and the Hurricanes can give us a realistic game that’s not from a comic book.

GO KNIGHTS!!

OK, the Stanley Cup Finals were already crazy, but they hit a new level of bonkers, crazy madness tonight. First of all, Brayden McNabb started the game after taking that slap shot to the face in game two and being taken to the hospital.  Vegas scored four goals in the second period, and Mitch Marner put in three of them, for Vegas to go up 4-0 after two.  Marner scored three goals in just over six minutes, setting a record for the fastest hat trick in SCF history.  Then the Hurricanes stormed back, scoring four goals in the 3rd to tie it, and three of them were in the span of 39 seconds.  It was a record speed for three goals in the third period of a SCF game, so both teams setting some records tonight.  It goes into OT.  Then it goes into double OT, where the Vegas Golden Knights put it in the net to win, and the assist on the GW goal...Brayden McNabb.  One of two assists he had in the game.

Pivotal game four on Tuesday.  Either Vegas will go up 3-1 or Carolina will tie it and regain home ice advantage.  So far, every game in this series has been a one goal game, and the last two have gone into OT.  This is why the Stanley Cup Playoffs are the greatest sporting event in the world.  This is pure madness.

Yeah…bonkers of a game for sure. 3 goals for Hurricane in 39 seconds…in the 3rd quarter…again. 3 goals for Knights in 6 minutes. Yeah…ok!! Are the goalies that bad or are the rest players that good?!?

I’m sure that the Hurricanes will tie up the SCF final in game 4 because more money can be made.

Yeah,, I’m a bit sour.

GO…never mind!!
