Game six goes to the Sabers in an 8-3 blowout of the Canadians.  Game 7 in Buffalo on Monday night. 730pm eastern.

A great game 7 between the Canadians and Sabers.  Montreal got off to a 2-0 lead in the first, the Sabers came back to tie it 2-2 and send the game to OT where the Canadines win 3-2 and advance.  Tough way for a good Sabers season to end, losing in OT of game 7 at home, but it was still their best season in almost 20 years and they will be back.  Congrats to the Canadians as they now face the Hurricanes.  Game one is on Thursday in North Carolina.

The Canucks have decided to clean house, firing head coach Adam Foote after one season, along with three assistant coaches.  The Canucks had the worst record in the NHL this year and one of the worst records in recent memory.  At 58 points they were well behind the Blackhawks 72 points for next lowest in the league.  Foote was not the right fit (the shoe didn't match the foot) for Vancouver, and after a season like that a reset was in order.

Not for long…is the way of life for head coaches, assistants, and those from the front office. More life for the players.
