It's 2022, where are my gi pants with pockets?!

for me it's actually better they are without pockets honestly. i think too many distractions nowadays.

people would be on the cell phones , waiting for an important call, etc

There's a potential for this to slippery slope into demands for cargo pockets.  And when videos of karateka wearing these start making it to YouTube, you'll have the latest wave of "American jokes" since camouflage belts.

I still want pockets in my gi pants, if for no other reason than that it would make changing a lot easier. If I could just put on my pants at home and put my cellphone, keys, wallet, etc. into my pockets that would be ideal. I would take them all out before class, but it would make my life more convenient.

A fannie pack seems like a good solution for this.  I know it's not very fashionable, but it definitely functional.

Sure, but I don't want a fannie pack. Fannie packs are an additional piece of clothing. I don't want that, I want my gi pants to have more functionality.
