Hello everyone,

I need help finding lesson plans for combative sports. Karate, Kickboxing, Judo, Werstling ... Its worth 30% of my mark in my peer mentoring class.

Its for a girl's grade nine class. I have tried searching the Internet. I have made some of my own lesson plans for Self Defense and Karate. I haven't taken Judo before. I took Werstling and Kick boxing a long time ago so I am rusty.

Can anyone point me in the right direction???

:brow:

Thanks.

In general you cannot directly change the wording of any rank (ranks appear below your username in topics and on your profile depending on the style used). Most boards use ranks to indicate the number of posts you have made (hence you are now a white belt) and to identify certain users, e.g. moderators and administrators may have a special rank. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank, you will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.

You can post your "real" belt rank in your "sig" and also in your profile.

We do 2hr classes but that can be changed. BTW I do Shotokan Karate.

There is also a book called Teaching Martial Arts. by Shan H. Kim. Its got several lesson plans in it. It a nice book for getting ideas on several things such as kids classes, rates, contracts, etc.

I agree with G95Champ. Make an outline. You don't have to totally stick to it but at least it gives you some organization. Change up what you do. In the dojo I attend we mix up what we do all the time. One night will be sparring, then next forms, the next a split, the next split up the ranks and do forms and sparring. That kind of stuff is what will make it maintain interest. Same old thing get boring to people. Try finding unique and different ways to do things. Be creative....after all you are the instructor.

I agrre with BlueDragon as well that a constant change keep people intrested and gets them out of the bordom of doing hte same thing night in and night out.
