jiu-jitsu fighter
I was at the subway the other day and this guy told my fried he was goin to stab him if he didn't give him his wallet, so I decided to handle the situation by briskly walking away, he followed us and reached into his pocket ,when he pulled out his hand, I immediatly kicked the objet out of it, turns out it was a butter knife, I used what I had learned in my blauer tactical systems training to handle the situation, for those of you who don't know what that is , its a canadian based, reality self-defense program, tonyblauer.com anyways, i was just curious how all of you would deal with a situation like this? would you be passive or agressive? would you have disabled him even before he took out the knife ? when he was following me ? i'd like to know your strategies ? Tombstone
i probably would have gotten stabbed in that situation it would have been an immediate fight for me.
jiu-jitsu fighter
i was taught to have a "safety zone" , In a "situation" i don't let the guy get more then punching range close to me, otherwise , i get very "uncomfortable" which results in him being very "uncomfortable" hahahahahah i never really learned knife or gun disarms so i think i handled the situation well "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
Kyle-san
So, you turned your back and walked away or did you just back up?
Freestyler
Sounds like you handled the situation very well. Generally, you see a knife along with the threat to hand over your wallet. This was some stupid punk who pulled the knife out to try and put some fear into you so you'd hand the wallet over when he saw you weren't afraid from his threat and weren't going to comply. I think I would have done pretty much the same thing as you -I might have made for a kick at his groin or stomach instead as soon as he moved to put his hand in his pocket. I'd be neither passive or aggressive, I'd be assertive, but non-challenging.
Kensai
Well, if I could not use Nike-jutsu or Run-do and I had to fight. The thing to remember is that the knife is attached to a body, once the arm is trapped then I would probably hold his hands behind him and get my mates the kick the hell out of him. TRY AND STEAL MY WALLET WILL YOU! But back to reality I would probably get stabbed or hand over my wallet, which would be no good sence I am skint anyway. magikchiongson
I would have grabbed the nearest thing I could use as a weapon. A stick, a pipe, a rock whatever. Then take off runnin. lol I own you.
yellowsnow
I'd say you did right. But in my opinion, if he started to follow me (and was behind me) I could have given him a quick side kick to the solar-plexis, then a quick knee to his face, and then RUN!! Cause he could have 10 of his 'homies' around the corner watching. YS
