Alan Armstrong Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 (edited) Hypnotising and martial arts has been around for a very long time and is likely to be around for some time to come, so may as well have some fun with it With none touch knockouts and moving people with the use of chi energy alone, if considering them for what they are, that being entertainment as a type of magic show. Then perhaps the hostility towards understanding that, this is a show, part hypnosis and part conforming it can be kept in context. The hostility I belive for adults, comes from the feeling of being deceived and lied to, yet consider children growing up without magical memories. When compliance between student and teacher ( in martial arts) reaches another level of none touch alone there has been (unintentional or not) a connection of none verbal communication between them. Similar to married couples that can finish each others sentences or know each other so well that subtle gestures (between student and teacher) are enough to communicate their thoughts and intentions just with facial expressions and hand gestures. Another example is that wanting to believe in magical things, making something more special than it is, thereby creating mysticism in a specific group. Mass hysteria and hypnotic suggestions can create stronger bonds between teacher and student reinforcing their relationship. Conforming and flinching, also overreacting to the moves of the teacher makes none touch sparring appearing real to on lookers. We can never be 100% sure that chi is real but for many that belive it exists then who are we to say that they are wrong? Hypnotism is real yet it doesn't seem possible in daily life? Skeptics watch this BEWARE Just imagine if all the military was hypnotised, there could be consequences? https://youtu.be/EFA_Ge7JWno Subliminal Seduction https://youtu.be/0xqh3-DvpJM How we are surrounded by subliminal messages to buy thing we don't need and to drive vehicles that promises freedom and prestige, making us feel more desirable or important, as this is the real use of Chi, with none touch, that move us and compels us, we accept knowing full well that we are buying in to things... ... with a free will? Well what about being hypnotised without knowing it? https://youtu.be/F0C6KMlv1G8 It is called Conversational Hypnosis https://youtu.be/N18gfdzWGuI Conversational Hypnosis vs Conversation https://youtu.be/ehoK0yJdAlY Then what about animals, can they be hypnotised and why? https://youtu.be/ozUjZUIJ5lg https://youtu.be/sYPsX044Tq8 https://youtu.be/NrPj-fAx0xA What about when one animal can hypnotise another animal? https://youtu.be/ODEUK5sB5vE Edited December 1, 2019 by Alan Armstrong
sensei8 Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 I don't believe in hypnosis in any shape, way, and/or form; simply a form of entertainment, like magic and the like.Science says that a person hypnosis themselves, and that another person can not hypnotize another person. The fact is, however, according to science, that hypnosis is a genuine psychological phenomenon that has valid uses in clinical practice. With that being said, I still don't believe in hypnosis whatsoever. Perhaps my mind is closed, and I accept that, and hopefully my not believing in the power of hypnosis prevents me from it.As far as no-touch, and a possible correlation and/or causation between hypnosis and no-touch are the driving force(s) for said entertainment show. I've no idea as to the why and/or because people support and/or believe the reality of either. Maybe, they just need something to believe in so bad, that they become proponents of either one, no matter what others might believe....like me...I do not believe in either. In the context of this topic, I do not believe in Chi either; I've not seen where Chi is effective and/or real in my 55 years in the MA. Albeit, I lack the faith in all three phenomena's, and even though, as a Christian, I sincerely believe that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, but not when it comes to hypnosis, no-touch, and Chi.I do believe that if I was to be a staunch proponent of hypnosis, no-touch, and Chi, and I was to teach either of them to my students at my dojo, I'd quickly have zero students, and my dojo would close...forever.As far as animals, I believe that fear creates the hypnosis appearance, and not the exact causation in certain animals. The higher one animal is on the food chain, the easier it can strike fear in other animals, in which they become on that days menu. Fear can freeze anyone, humans including, and that fear in humans is no different than what animals experience in the wild.Imho!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
