Couch vs Dojo

Recommended Posts

Thank you for this post. There was a time when I never saw the couch. I wasn't in the dojo, but I was active, in shape, and constantly worked on improving myself. I lost focus and spent too much time with others that I allowed to pull me away from being active.

I am an adult single parent learning karate, and it isn't in my life enough for me to be able to say I have taken on the lifestyle. I am, however, working on it.

The days I can't get to the dojo, I now spend time focusing on a kata and charts after my little one goes to sleep. Our dojo allows us to sign up for extra help on Friday evenings, so I have started signing up to make sure the work I am doing at home is correct.

So, thank you for this post. Those around me make it seem easy to get to the dojo. It's a good reminder that others face the same challenge(s), and are finding ways to bring karate into their homes and/or make adjustments to get to the dojo. If they can, so can I.

We are worth the effort it takes to better ourselves.
