Spartacus Maximus Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Self-defense can be challenging to explain or teach to adults, but children can be even more difficult because their age and mental development limits their ability to understand certain important aspects. Children are more likely to face physical threats from their peers than from adults. Dealing with a school bully requires a different approach than what would be effective and appropriate against a criminal assault. How and what should be taught to children for self-defense against school bullies or others within their age group?
sensei8 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 This topic is going to be difficult for us to agree on because we've differing mindset towards this topic; our approaches might not be favorable.K.I.S.S. = Keep It Simple StudentEspecially when it comes to kids because the most basics doesn't need complicated whatever. The more practical, the better. For now, I'll not extrapolate any further!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
bushido_man96 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 KISS is the way to go, for sure. For kids, I'd probably teach them how to break away from various holds and grabs, using distraction techniques at the same time, and then using their lungs to call for help, draw attention to themselves, and use their feet to get away. I'd keep it very simple. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
