msloman32 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Hello everyone, this is my first time on this forum. I am writing a screenplay that takes place in both Okinawa and Hawaii in the 1930's. I was wondering if anyone on this forum has extensive knowledge about the every day culture of that time period in Okinawa as well as how Karate was taught and influenced in that time period.Much appreciated!
sensei8 Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Welcome to KF, msloman32l glad that you're here!!I hope that you're able to find the necessary info for that period of time in Okinawa. All of my knowledge of Okinawa especially for that time period is extensive, however, are secondhand through my Soke and Dai-Soke, of which they were both born, raised, and trained in the culture of Okinawa as well as in Karate before moving to the USA back in the late 1950's. **Proof is on the floor!!!
msloman32 Posted May 8, 2019 Author Posted May 8, 2019 Second hand is okay! Would you be able to communicate via email? I just started on here, so I don't have enough posts to email you.
