Should I stick down this path or does my technique need fundamental change in anyway?I tried to keep it compact, sharp, powerful, and economical all at the same time.

It's better to do, than not to do, providing it's being performed correctly, and under the eye of an experienced instructor. **Proof is on the floor!!!
