singularity6 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I've pretty much been away from class since March. The wife and I went back last night. It felt good to be back at it! My balance, flexibility and core strength all seem to have waned slightly, but I think it'll come back soon enough. 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo)
sensei8 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 (edited) That MA horse is something like many other things in ones life; once you get back on it, things come back to you in short time as the cobwebs fall away. Welcome back to your training, and to your journey. Edited October 20, 2018 by sensei8 **Proof is on the floor!!!
DWx Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 The hardest class is the first one. Once you get going it'll get easier. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
singularity6 Posted October 20, 2018 Author Posted October 20, 2018 I seemed to remember everything fine enough. I was able to go through all of my forms without missing a beat (if you ignore some slight balance issues.) The self defense and one-step portions of our classes were always a struggle for me... and they still are! Yeah, I'll be fine. It's just great to be back! 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo)
bushido_man96 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Great you've made it back. I've been on hiatus as of late, too, due to work and life schedules. I hope to be back on that MA horse soon, too. That first class back is rough. The first week back is rough. But, muscle memory is a wonderful thing. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
