KickChick
Absolutely! I thought I posted something ... but I guess I never did I remember back in late 70's when I was working at college radio when we "played" their first LP. My 8-yr old is totally "into" The Clash (loves "Guns of Brixton") RIP Joe ... at least he knows they made the "R&R Hall of Fame" Edited January 6, 2003 by KickChick
taebot
Should I stay or should I go now? I guess we finally got the answer to 'ol Joe's question... KickChick
Actually I just heard this morning that when The New York Times reported Strummer's death they had Mick Jone's (from The Clash) picture inserted. Just so happens that when The New York Post discovered this "mistake".... they took it upon themselves to blast the Times for their misinformation (they are rival newspapers... the Post feels the Times is not "hip" enough when it comes to music & entertainment). When doing so the Post reported how the NY Times printed a pic of Mick Jones instead of Joe Strummer they in fact printed (along with this report on the mistake that the Times made)a pic of Mick Jones from the band Foreigner and not from The Clash. RockyMtnMark
The Clash were one of the bands that literally changed my life some 25-odd years ago. I've seen them live 3-4 times, and they never disappointed. Joe Strummer and Mick Jones were *my* Lennon/McCartney. RIP, Joe.
