It was fast and accurate when it was meant to and it had tension where it was intended. To my eyes only.He didn't look stiff to me. Any tension seemed deliberate. singularity6 Posted January 25, 2018 Share Posted January 25, 2018 I think one's perception is based on the style. My personal impression? Well, I think it looked great. He looked very relaxed, but exploded with power and speed at seemingly appropriate times. Aside from the pair of double middle-high blocks he did about 3/4 of the way through, his hand-foot timing was great (I suspect this was done intentionally, though.) He also put his hips into all blocks and hand strikes. All motions were done with great precision.I say 2 thumbs up. 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Does my link shed light??Imho...I'd score it on a 10.0 scale...9.59 Your link is worse.if you think that is worse , then watch this one. the first link you posted was very technical and clean ,you can hope for a trophy . the second link is pure budo , focus and power . that man is a legend .i am not a fan of Shotokan style but I have most respect for men like Kanazawa. the third link i posted is a Okinawan version from Tomari village one of the birth places of Karate and as you can see the third one is even less technical, even sloppy. The Karateka in the OP video link, imho, was quite affable in his execution of said Kata in question. Kanazawa was great for his time, but he is no way comparable to the best kata performers of today. You just mentioned him because he is famous. Watch Mirces tsuki and stance age 55+.
