jmd161 Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Devil_In_Disguise, I'm not sure what style you're talking about since it seems to have been cut off what you were typing. Were you asking about Choy Lay Faht? I assume you were because when i typed it the common way it was also cut off. jmd The Basics Are The Hidden Secret To Kung Fu Master The Basics.

jmd161 Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 Ok i thought that's what you wanted ,but i wanted to be sure. What would you like to know about Choy Lay F'ut? It's an awesome style it's a Southern Fist style ,but it looks more like a Northern China Style because it has longrange techniques within it.CLF is one of my favorite styles. Are there some schools near you? Are you looking for info because you're thinking about learning CLF? If that is the case CLF is a style i recommend to anyone that has the chance to learn it.The only problem i have with it is make sure you find a good teacher/sifu. I'll be glad to help you with any info you need. jmd The Basics Are The Hidden Secret To Kung Fu Master The Basics.
choylefutsanda Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 there are two types of choy li fut that i know of. the first is hung sing which has a crazy amount of forms and is oriented towards them more and then there is pak (bak) sing which has less forms and is more fighting oriented. hung sing can be traced from the creator of choy le fut more directly and pak sing is a student of the creator that was booted out for fighting to much ( he spent a number of years before getting kicked out). choy li fut has a well rounded system it has stand up fighting, throws and ground(ground portion is hard to find someone teaching it but it exists) the system is very circuler and consists of mantis, leapord, tiger, snake(ground fighting) and other styles of shaolin, and has iron palm. the system lets the user stay planted and go from far to close range fighting. this is all the information that i could think of at the moment. I hope information provided helps you.
