I figure this is more of a General question and not some much "Weapons" so I moved it to General.

Thanks.

My Instructor is one 3rd dan Chris Helmstock. He is a great person, he has a sence of humour and provides great training and a good time at all of his lessons. I have only the utmost respect for him and his teachings :karate:

It is good for one to respect and admire your sensei.

I am of the opinion that if you cannot respect your sensei or you violently disagree with the way your sensei teaches or what is taught you should train elsewhere.

Sensei's are not gods they are humans. But they are humans who can have big impacts on those they teach. Mayby that is why the old Okinawan masters had few students at any one time.

My sabanyim is Nigel Brophy, fourth dan, who trained under Master Ku, one of the original founders of Choi Kwang Do before he broke away to found his own martial art (which incidentally is the only striking art in the world with no blocks, deflections, wards or parries). He is probably the most capable martial artist I have ever encountered, and a great guy. He is also an amazing teacher.

my "senseI" or in taekwondo my sabonim..is like a father to me..one of the few men i completely trust ..who has always been there for me both in the dojang and in life..i always listen to his words or advice because i can not remember a time when he was wrong...he has been an inspiration for me from the first day i knew him...alot of my personal development into the man i am today has been greatly influenced by both he and my own father ..without them both i would surely be in jail or dead by now..the aggresive sometimes violent young boy that i was ..they both guided me into being an honorable man..like is not the word I love my sabonim ..out of all the masters i could have wound up under..i feel so proud to have become his second black belt..in a school that put out so many "legitimate" black belts and champions...I would never hesitate in fact am proud to say..I am a result of master Atef Himayas teachings and brutal training...in the world of taekwondo my masters name carries much weight and respect..and when people hear who my instructor is they know im for real..his name has more credibility then my registration number with the Kukkiwon (main head quarters for the world taekwondo federation in Korea)and i would never have it any other way!!
