sensei8 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 *Practice, and then some!!*Proof is on the floor!!*The Testing Cycle will take care of itself!!*Resolved Training, always!!*Relax; it's not the end of the world!!*Have fun, everyday!!*You don't need 100% to pass!!*You'll either Pass or Fail; either way, just do your very best!!*And if you should Fail, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and continue training!!These are things I've told both my own Student Body and our SKKA;s Student Body over and over and over these many years as either their CI and/or as the Kaicho of the SKKA.The MA testing can be quite overwhelming to the Nth degree, but if you allow each Testing Cycle per each rank, you'll make yourself sick with worry. Remember these, now and forever...Mizu No Kokoro [Mind like the water]Tsuki No Kokoro [Mind like the moon]After that, it's all down hill....Don't worry; be happy!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
Alan Armstrong Posted July 30, 2017 Author Posted July 30, 2017 1.) Know what is required for the test.2.) Practice what is going to be tested.3.) Set a reasonable goal to learn and absorb what will be required for the test.Try to sit in on other students tests and take notes or record it.Testing is a method or way of determining if the student has learned the required information adequately.Tests are in your benefit, better to fail and learn what was insufficient later, than to pass before one's time-skipping valuable information.
bushido_man96 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Testing tips from white to black. What tips do you recommend from white belt all the way up to black belt. This also could be the right time to ask higher belts questions, in helping you to move up to the next level."Success is where preparation meets opportunity." Learn the material, know the material, practice the material, and apply the material. Then, when its time to test on the material, your only doing what you've already done. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

Those who talk don't know." ~ Lao-tzu, Tao Te Ching"Walk a single path, becoming neither cocky with victory nor broken with defeat, without forgetting caution when all is quiet or becoming frightened when danger threatens." ~ Jigaro Kano
sensei8 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Live in the now, and not in the future!!Train in where you are, not worry about what's in the future. If you're a 5th kyu, don't worry about 1st kyu, and if you're a 2nd kyu, don't worry about Shodan. Worry about the present, and the now!!Worse I've seen is 1st kyu worrying about Sandan and above. That translates, and makes it transparent, that rank is everything. Then they wonder why they're still 1st kyu...many years later!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
