singularity6 Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I watched The Accountant (with Ben Afleck) with my wife a couple weeks ago, and thought I should recommend it here. If you're not familiar, it involves an accountant by the name of Chris Wolf who is on the high-functioning side of the autism spectrum, and moonlights as a bit of a vigilante/rogue super hero. It is an action flick, so some suspension of disbelief is required. Overall, I found it to be a very entertaining movie, and it shines the spotlight on autism, which the general public could use some more awareness on. 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo)
LLLEARNER Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I enjoyed it as well "Those who know don't talk. Those who talk don't know." ~ Lao-tzu, Tao Te Ching"Walk a single path, becoming neither cocky with victory nor broken with defeat, without forgetting caution when all is quiet or becoming frightened when danger threatens." ~ Jigaro Kano
Patrick Posted June 14 Posted June 14 I just watched this movie last night, with the thought that we might check out the sequel that was recently released. One scene shows Affleck's overbearing father forcing a man to run aggressive fight drills against him and his brother, who are just kids. With the captions on, one interesting thing popped up. When the man spoke, he was attributed as "silat instructor." Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? bushido_man96 Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM Posted Saturday at 10:20 PM I've seen these pop up as well, but haven't watched them yet. Silat is not a style you see a lot of, and if it's actually represented in the movies, then I think I'll check it out. 1 https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
