Prototype Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Starting from 6:25 I'm mainly interested in stances and delivery. Are the stances higher than advanced levels of Shotokan (in which stances are neutral). Or are they virtually identicalThe reason I ask is because the stances from Shotokan black belts are not consistent at all.... The WKF Japanese national team have deep stances (which is supposed to be below 4th dan). While other black belts such as Kanazawa have significantly higher stances, closer to TKD.
singularity6 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 The style of Taekwondo I practice is jidokwan, and the way we train is very similar to Tang Soo Do, which in tern is similar to Shotokan. There are some differences between what we do, and the video, but the stances are similar. 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo)
