singularity6
The computerized voice made that video feel MUCH longer than it was. This reminds me of a conversation that I had with my friend. MA classes tend to be quite costly. It'd be nifty if some of the bigger schools in metropolitan areas could have one or two classes per week where all are welcome. No uniforms required (though a t-shirt from the school would be nifty) and no real ranks. Those who couldn't afford traditional lessons would benefit by being able to try it out, and maybe even learning something. It could also attract new students. Anyone who's savvy at grant writing could try to get the costs mitigated through the community or local donors. Just a thought. 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo)
Alan Armstrong
When a kid, the local youth club was run by the police, that offered boxing and judo. Was a good way for the police to integrate with the youth and also keeping an eye on the trouble makers.Looking back, they were the good cops. Cops need to mingle with the people they protect. Teachers need to mingle with the people they teach. Respect is a two-way street. The human race would be better off if we all realized this more frequently. 5th Geup Jidokwan Tae Kwon Do/Hap Ki Do(Never officially tested in aikido, iaido or kendo)
sensei8
It just might turn out to be a very sound judgemental decision in the long run. Nothing ventured, is nothing gained...so...why not?!At least the offering of even the most modicum of MA lessons for its tourists might give them some sort of comfort, both law enforcement as well as the tourists. It's said that it is better to have learned something, than to have learned nothing. A applaud the efforts endlessly. The naysayers might speak about a many of negative things that would come out of this type of arrangement. Nonetheless, anything of a possibility doesn't come without some sort of difficulties. Then I say to the Japanese Police...teach on...and teach them well. **Proof is on the floor!!!
