Sorta.

I study mantis boxing.

Students at my teacher's club spend many years working on shaolin basics before they are taught mantis forms and techniques.

Let's get this thread back on track: Who studies shaolin kung fu? Make sure you include what you like/dislike about the style, as long as it's in a respectful manner.

I used to study Shaolin, and i thought is was fantastic. There are so many different styles - north, south, animals, etc.

Some Shaolin schools get "spiritual", so it would be a problem for christian, jewish, muslim, etc. to get involved with.

I have learned Shaolin and most of the other styles and it has to be the ultimate style it focuses mind and body if you are thinking of taking classes I suggest you learn Capoeira first, it gives you a lot more control.

I take Shaolin kungfu, and I love it. Like larry said in the old schools there was more focus on the spiritual side of it, but I have a christian instructor so we don't go into any of that.
