Struggling_Mudansha Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I've been using Shureido steel sai now for the past year. Unfortunately, I can't practice with them for too long or they start hurting the tendon between my thumbs. So with that, I've been thinking about switching to aluminum sai.Can anyone recommend a really good pair of aluminum sai?
sensei8 Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Century Martial Arts Supply offers some for about $53.00; I've purchased quite a lot of differing Sai's, including the Aluminum ones, for as long as they've offered them. I've been quite satisfied with them across the board. **Proof is on the floor!!!
Struggling_Mudansha Posted June 1, 2017 Author Posted June 1, 2017 I asked my sensei about it a short time ago and he let me hold a pair of thin stainless steel sai. They were very nice; easy to use and didn't dig into my hands. I'm going to buy a pair the next chance I get and sell the Shureido.
