LLLEARNER Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 We, of the SKKA, do not interfere with dojo politics whatsoever because we respectfully honor the boundaries that exist between the dojo's and the Governing Body, us; they've their agenda and we've ours.Understand, at the SKKA's earliest days of a spouting network of dojo's, the SKKA DID interfere with dojo politics heavily. However, that was very short lived once Soke realized just how damaging that was to the whole, and not just to the parts; that made all of the differences.Sure, the SKKA still does visit ever dojo within the SKKA network, with a visual presence, but that role is purely supportive, and not dictatorial. What you do seems ideal. You provide a basic structure to ensure the integrity of the overall training, but provide enough freedom for a business owner to operate according to their needs and conscience. Those who talk don't know." ~ Lao-tzu, Tao Te Ching"Walk a single path, becoming neither cocky with victory nor broken with defeat, without forgetting caution when all is quiet or becoming frightened when danger threatens." ~ Jigaro Kano

More influence by the Soke may have worked in a more conformist culture, but, the US is not very conformist. It wasn't an easy road to pave, but Soke and Dai-Soke were sensitive to those boundaries. But it wasn't always that way!! The SKKA had to not just teach lessons, but they had to learn how to learn lessons as well. Edited July 22, 2018 by sensei8 **Proof is on the floor!!!
