Ah, Gauntlet. I remember playing it on the faithful NES. I also remember how it was impossible to complete unless you had a minimum of two players, due to the "I need food" rule.

 

My parents stayed up one night and got to level 100, thinking it would end. It didn't. Of course, the horror of these kind of game was that no-one, and I mean no-one actually completed it.

 

My god those games were good then
