Hi Guys,

Apologies for background noise in this video, it was louder than hoped on the camera!

This video contains highlights of a flow drill for Gedan Barai, which looks at a number of ways of applying the motion and explores many different concepts (including embusen, attack-lines, angles, hiki-te, stances, striking vulnerable areas and many more).

This video is not meant to be a full detailed instructional piece, but I hope it is of value!

Hi, found this useful and enjoyable. It's always nice to see the application of these techniques so we remember what we're really doing. The application and explanation was good.

Thanks

Another perfect example that a block ISN'T always a block. It's easy for a movement within kata to be that assumed technique. That's also another perfect example just how important bunkai is.

Thanks for sharing the video!!

In Karate, a strike is a block. And a block is a strike.

I love it!! This is my favorite bunkai for this technique. I learned this from my sensei back in Pennsylvania. My sensei here, see's it more as a judo throw. I think both work, just depends on who it works better with!
