Full time Kung Fu training!

I recently discovered that, for a hefty price, you can train full time at a Kung Fu school in China. I'm having trouble deciding on which one to go to. So far, the best one I've found is the Middle Kingdom Kung Fu School: http://www.learnmartialartsinchina.com

It's the cheapest one I can find with not so bad reviews. I've also found the Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School, which looks awesome and the videos on YouTube are great, but I've read some really bad reviews as well, with the head master being called a terrorist and betraying one of the other instructors.

Can you guys help me find a good full time Kung Fu school that I can attend? I'd like it to be as cheap as possible, but I'm more so looking for the best experience out there. Some schools offer training in more than one style, so I'd like to put my focus on Wing Chun and Shaolin Kung Fu.

OR, if you know of any REAL Shaolin temples that would accept a foreigner for full time training, that would be even better.

I had a friend that did this for 6 months I think. Will see if I can find out which she went to.

Unfortunately I think a lot of them now are commercialised for Westerners.

Has plenty of places to train in.

Personally I would look to train Wing Chun in Foshan. You could also look into teaching English while you are there to help with costs.

It is not unusual for (native English speakers) students to teach abroad. Contact your local college and ask how you can be certified to do this.

Many students do this (TEAFL) Teaching English as a Foreign Language over the summer holidays while on their college break

From what I know, is that a 3 month intense course should cover it. It doesn't matter what nationality you are to teach English, as long as you are certified.

I'm not certified, but as I am a NES I just do conversational English with none native English people.

Foshan is no stranger to foreigners from all over the world, learning Wing Chun.

There are hundreds of small Wing Chun schools there.

Wing Chun is now an international martial art, most every country has schools.

Perhaps a Wing Chun school in Foshan is set up for foreigners, including staying with a host family. You could help a Wing Chun student in Foshan to stay with you for a short period of time also.

Remember that martial arts in China is not about fighting it is about making friends!

Real shame. I booked myself into Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu school with high hopes with how good everything looked online not only to find i had been deceived about it online, one friend also showed me a video of a master being beaten by a group of men that the headmaster organised.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGoGyKMQ4cE Before all this i had some issues come up and i needed a refund, which took 6 weeks to come through; i had to constantly be messaging them for weeks, where they either ignored me or made excuses. At one point they said they were banned from transferring money overseas and so would have to send me the money through western union, which would have meant i got far less of my money back than i actually gave them. Luckily i had a friend in china who they could transfer it to and it still took weeks for them to get back to me once i presented that solution. Would highly recommend you find another school far away from this one.

The silent video surveillance camera clips , does show something of a person being accosted by a group of men.

Reading between the lines and to assume why this is taking place is anyone's guess.

It should be noted that not all martial art places or events are nicey nicey hospitality places in both Eastern or Western hemispheres.

East

West

As tutelage in overseas marital art camps, schools or academies can be considered to be very harsh compared to western standards.

In the west have adapted the martial art fighting skills from the east and have made it suitable for many types of environments from military to none contact sparring matches, to the absolutely absurd.

For western martial art values and judgements upone eastern one's could be considered cruel from an outsider perspective.

Eastern schools have always known to be harsh disciplinarian places, as corporeal punishment in the west has now fallen by the wayside, they in the east will most likely look even more so cruel and harsh today than ever before.
