McKnight Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 I've read TJKD i loved it lee's philosophy and thoughts on jeet kune do are great i don't know if its for me but i highly recommend it. I also recommed bruce lee's fighting methods good looking out LARRYJF A warrior can defeat a thousand men, a thousand armies but a true warrior is one who can master himself'
Infin8_Mind Posted March 2, 2003 Posted March 2, 2003 I've been reading it on-and-off for a while, mostly to incorporate some of his philosophy into my training outlook. Seems like a great book. I'd say it would go well with anyone's training.. at least to pick up ideas. Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate<--| Knowledge of Self |-->
jkddragon2007 Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 hey i got a bruce lee book but its not tao of jeet kune do. i have Bruce lees commentary of the martial way. its really good and i personally recommend it "Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation"-bruce lee
EnergyBoxer Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 I have the Tao, as well as about 20 other books by or about Bruce or "JKD". I highly recommend anyone who studies martial arts to read as much as they can. As for the Tao itself, It is a very good tool, but in no way was it meant to "teach" someone Jeet kune Do. Kai Sai Wing Chun Kung Fu, JKD, Brazilian/Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu, Chinese Hawiian Kempo, Pressure Point/Nerve/Cavity striking, and Tai Chi.
dtstiachi Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 great book. My JKD instructor called it the Karate Bible. "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
cathal Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I do not practice JKD but I have read it, and recommend it. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
