Has anyone sourced Gis or belts with their own patches sewn on where the manufacturers patches normally are?

I've seen it a few times in the past, just struggling to find someone who can do it in bulk for me.

I'd imagine you'd have to order a lot of them. I think KI does this for one or two groups, and Isami does this for Kyokushin. I've seen on Shuriedo's Japanese site that you can choose from several labels, just like Tokaido.

I think it's probably going to be more work and expense than it's worth in the end, unless you've got hundreds or thousands of students wanting them.

True. I was looking to buy in bulk anyway, but I'm thinking you may be right. I'll just suck it up and have a generic branded uniform like everyone else haha.

I can recommend several places in the US, but I don't know of any in Australia. Maybe companies that print names & numbers on football jerseys. If they don't do it themselves, they may know who does.

My local embroiderer was happy to put my labels on generic belts and gis, however the cost started stacking up.

I might still revisit that option when we start putting black belts through.

This place in the US does amazing belts & will embroider anything on them, but I'd bet shipping would be exprensive. Perhaps it's worth an email to find out, however.

If you're looking at a couple hundred units or more and want to import, you can probably get a factory to do a production run. If you're not familiar with foreign factories and your customs and duty regulations, you might want to process the order through a local uniform vendor. It'll cost you more money, but save you headaches. There are many pitfalls to ordering volume from overseas. Oh, and expect your money to be tied up for somewhere from 3 to 6 months for production and transportation, plus whatever time you need to sell the product.
