Naihanchi Shodan Application Webinar by Wastelander

Hey all,

I thought I would mention that Noah (Wastelander) has just released a DVD of a Naihanchi Shodan application webinar he recorded with Richard Poage.

You can find it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Naihanchi-Application-Webinar-Richard/dp/B01CF83N8A/

From the description:

Naihanchi Shodan is one of the oldest and most widely practiced kata in Shuri-Te branches of karate, and most Shorin-Ryu styles consider it to be their core kata. This DVD is a collection of footage from an online seminar covering multiple applications for every sequence in that kata. This includes breakdowns of fighting applications, as well as drills that can be used to supplement your training.

The material is presented by Richard Poage (Renshi, Godan, Shorin-Ryu) and Noah Legel (Shodan, Shorin-Ryu), both of whom extensively study the movements of kata to distill practical fighting applications from them. While they practice a Kobayashi branch of Shorin-Ryu, the material will be applicable and recognizable to all branches of Shorin-Ryu. Additionally, it isn't strictly necessary to practice Naihanchi Shodan to benefit from the applications shown in this video, so practitioners of other systems can also learn a variety of useful techniques.

Congrats on releasing this, Noah. :)

Congrats to you, Noah, and Sensei Poage!!

Btw, and please, don't anyone get mad at me, but, the word "Complete" is an illusion, imho, when it comes to things of the MA, and especially when it's about Bunkai because Oyo exists. Applications, again imho, are idea's...roadways...to new found discoveries, at times, endless. OK...sensei8...Bob... me...shut-up...it's just a title!!

OK...tape back over my mouth!!

STILL...Congrats to you both on the release of your DVD!!

:D

Haha, yes, we agree with you on that! It is "complete" in the sense that it covers applications for every movement in the kata, but of course, nothing is ever truly "complete" :P

Thanks, Bob!
