I'm a visual (Life long) artist.

Art/visually works well in understanding two and three dimensional thinking.

Geometry and perspective's knowledge, helps in understanding angles and distances relating to many aspects of fighting.

Including transitions concerning Yin/Yang are easier and understandably gives visual artists a deep understanding of the finer points of contrasts and harmonies.

Haven't linked my art websites here or any where, as not wanting to seem like a money making marketing plan.

Prefer to separate my artwork from my martial art.

Just got a new camera a few days ago - Canon 6D. Got it for pretty cheap too (relatively speaking), as it’s been discontinued for over a year now.

I had it shipped to my work so it wouldn’t sit on the porch begging to be taken. Of course I had to play around with it, and when a coworker came into my classroom, of course I had to tell her what aperature is and how you can’t get that shallo depth of field with a point and shoot camera. Then I had to take a test photo and show her what I was talking about.

As an added bonus, it came with a free Lightroom 6 DVD (THE photo editing software). And I had to show a different coworker what that was all about :)

Yeah, completely un-MA like.

I play Magic the Gathering and read an inordinate amount of comic books. I also really like to cook. In fact, one of my resolutions was to cook every part of a cow throughout the year.

I know this one is old, but this grabbed my attention. I play Magic, the Gathering as well, and really enjoy the deck brewing/building aspects of the game. I only play EDH/Commander anymore, as I can't afford to try to play in any of the competitive formats. My kids play with me from time to time now, too, which is always fun.

1. Math instructor at a community college

2. I've "played guitar" since I was 16 (I'm 40 now.) Never in a band... I'm not that good

3. Hiking

4. Astronomy (when the urge strikes me)

5. My friends and I burned 72 Christmas trees on NYE at their house which is right on Lake MI.

It’s been a while but it’s totally appropriate here...

I wish my neighborhood would get together and burn all the Christmas trees in some sort of get together. Or even just burn them. February 20th, and there are still Christmas trees out near the road waiting to be picked up by the city garbage guys. Seriously. And several of them were put out there on December 26th.
