jeffin
My first was against a JJJ who was a weight lifter which Ithink actually gave me an advantage as he seemed less agile, anyway after getting submitted by some wierd locks and holds (one where he ended up on his knees with me behind him pulling my arm up and in the end it was a lock on my fingers which I tapped out at) I managed to move him round into a rear mount he rolled over but I held on and got the choke. The problem with BJJ I find is if your a beginner your usually the only one and everyone else has trained for 6 months or more, consequently it was about 4-6 weeks before I got that far. jiu-jitsu fighter
my first submission, i learned an armbar from mount, armbar from guard triangle choke americana i learned these my first class (semi private lesson) i don't remember but i think it was an arm bar or a triangle choke for my first submission "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
CMA
My first submission was the second time I ever grappled. We started the fight standing up and then when he went in to take me to the ground I locked my leg behind his throwing him off balance. I immediately started going for his back and soon I had him in a choke.

dark_adjudication
It's so hard to remember that is about half of what I did in Judo class. Hundreds of submission holds while I was a white belt. Then again, I was a white belt for quite a while... Dober
Hmm my first submission that I feel was really... "real"... A guy my same weight, has about month of training on me was just all over the place jumping, standing, whatever. I caught him in a super tight shoulder stand arm bar. CatchGuy
My first sub was a short arm scissor and top wrist lock from the side mount. Catch me if you can!
Kyle-san
My first was just a simple inside wrist lock with some extra pressure applied on the elbow.
