stoneheart Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I know the yellow label is slightly heavier at 13.75 oz weight. But why is the black label more expensive though it uses less fabric threads by square? For the record, I have a yellow label Mugen and I like it, and I am in the market for another Mugen but am trying to decide between the two.
Oshishinobu Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 I have had 12 oz in other brands and I loved it, the only issue was with wear, the seams started tearing out. I had a 12 oz tokaido and it sadly fell apart. personally I like the Orange the 10 oz. is perfect and it has a nice snap to it. OSU!
JR 137 Posted February 12, 2016 Posted February 12, 2016 I can't add much here, having not worn any of them, but a few classmates have the black, yellow, and orange label. They all (about 4 of them) like the orange the best.
stoneheart Posted February 12, 2016 Author Posted February 12, 2016 The orange label is good for a sparring uniform. I prefer a bit more weight on my gi for workouts as I perspire heavily and it just holds the sweat better. There's no doubt that the Mugen gi by KI offer good value for their cost.
stoneheart Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 I finally acquired a black label to compare with my yellow. The black label is made of canvas material, so it has a rougher texture than the brushed cotton yellow label. Perhaps this fabric is costlier and maybe longer lasting?I like both. Good value in my opinion.
