Bruce001 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate USA. Anyone heard of it? Or practice it? I managed to get a green belt with them a few years ago at the local YMCA. I greatly enjoyed the classes and the people there. I'm curious to hear other people's opinions though. Thanks!
Wastelander Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Well, I assume "Ueshiro Shorin-Ryu Karate USA" would be an organization that teaches Ueshiro Ansei Sensei's brand of Matsubayashi-Ryu. If so, then I suppose I've heard of it--he was a rather well-known instructor under Nagamine Shoshin, if I remember correctly. JR 137 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 If they are in fact teaching Ueshiro's style of karate as he taught it, then it should be quite good. Ueshiro was/is very highly regarded in many circles.
