I didn't expect to have high hopes after the last several movies in the series, but there is a new Kickboxer coming out and it includes the Orginial Star, Jean-Claude Van Damme, plus wonderful Martial Arts Acting talents like Dave Bautista, GSP, Gina Carano, and Darren Shahlavi!

After what Mark Dacascos did to the last Kickboxer, I didn't think I'd ever care about the series again, but this might be pretty good!

They filmed some of it in nearby New Orleans.

As a huge fan of the original, I was bummed when I read about the "reboot". But I'm a huge JCVD and GSP fan, and I think it may be okay!

Looking forward to the new one.

I never have high expectations for these kinds of movies because obviously the plots and stories are no really the point. That's the difference between a great movie and a good chop socky flick. They're an entirely different category and critics who judge the plot too much are looking at the wrong angle.

Fans enjoy movies like Bloodsport and Kickboxer because they like the fight scenes and action, not because the story is elaborate or meaningful other than setting up the action. If GSP AND Van Damme are in it, I would buy it.

I've always been drawn like a magnet to the worst of the MA flicks. In the 80's, I would go to Blockbuster or the local "mom & pop" video store & pass up every Bruce Lee film to grab the ones made by PKA kickboxers like Don Wilson, Jerry Trimble or even Super Heavyweight World Champion Anthony Elmore. "This one has to be good! I just know it!," I'd think to myself. I've seen more of these stinkers than I can name. Truth be told, I still haven't seen most of Bruce's films or even "Crouching Tiger." Don't kick me out of the club

I do have a funny story about Don Wilson. I trained with Marek Piotrowski in the early 90's. Marek fought & beat Wilson in late '89. Our trainer, the late Kevin McClinton, told me this story. Don had made a film & it was actually released in theaters a few weeks before the fight. At the press conference, Wilson gave Marek some free passes to see the movie. Marek took Kevin & a few other guys to see it. Marek smiled & joked around with people that he knew well, but to most folks, he often came off as a very serious man. He was born in Poland & it was easy for him to come off with an "Ivan Drago" (from Rocky 4) kind of vibe. After watching the film, everyone was talking about the movie (laughing joking around) except for Marek, who was quite. Kevin asked what he thought of the movie. He looked at Kevin really seriously & said, "Now I have a reason to kick his butt." Marek won a 12 round decision against Wilson the next week.

I'll see the new kickboxer no matter how bad the reviews are. It's my nature.

Hello Iceman. I am not sure who you are, but I am trying to find the guys we trained with back at the gym with Kevin. I use to train with Kenny (before he changed his name), some of my classmates like little Kenny, little Kevin, his cousin Melanie, and Reggie Given, who was a champion. Do the old guys from the gym still get together ever?
