Good morning/afternoon/evening (dependent on time zone)

Has anyone on here attended a seminar before? As I have mentioned numerous times before, I listen to Iain Abernethy's podcasts a lot. I have just noticed he has one in Folkestone, Kent, UK in February 2016 and am really looking forward to it, anyone ever been to one?

Yes, I have been to one of Iain's seminars before, back when Bunkai Jutsu was first published. If they are still the same type of thing then definitely go, I learned some new things, revised some stuff I already knew and had a great time with new friends. If you are a podcast fan then you know the kind of stuff you will be getting, kata bunkai and lots of it. If that is your thing then you are going to enjoy yourself.

Think I am going to have to start begging "she who must be obeyed" for permission (and check that I have the day off work!)

Will be interesting to see it through the eyes of a beginner in one style but shodan in another style.

We had Iain over to Australia for a week a couple of years ago and are hoping to do so again next year.

He is pretty interesting. A combination of reinforcement of things I already knew, new stuff and certain elements of throws locks and holds that although I already knew hadn't really identified those moves in certain kata.

I've been to many a seminar (including some with Hokama Sensei after him grading me in Kobudo to keep up my skill levels), but never one with Iain.

I would love to, but never had the chance.
