kicker Posted November 3, 2002 Posted November 3, 2002 I think I will take muay thai though... Uhh hope it doesn't hurt too much when you sparr... Do you ever get used to the pain? Well you can where shin pads and elbows pads (and knee pads) if you want and it doesn't hurt as much with the padding. I only where shin pads though. If you kick bags that are hard eventually your shins will get stronger so it wont hurt when sparring. when you do your best it`s going to show. "If you watch the pros, You will learn something new"
red Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 Unfortunatley I am always injured. Today I showed up for work with a fat lip and bruises all over my face. I do have to say though that it was all my fault. I was holding the thai pads for someone much stronger than I am and was not paying attention and took a kick right in the face. Usually I show up for work with bruises especially on my shins and sometimes on my arms. I am glad it is winter so I can wear pants all the time. A few days ago someone at my work asked me if I was being abused and I had to explain to her what I do. I try to be careful because I do have a job that requires me to go out and meet with clients and it is a little embarassing to meet them and have to explain now why I have bruises on my face. My poor boyfriend hates going out with me in public because he gets dirty looks.
ramymensa Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Poor guy They think he beat you Well about getting injured ... some of us don't want to look like coming directly from WW2, that's why we are so careful. I'm a girl also and I know how weird is to show up at work and among friends wearing some pretty "marks" Our ally is now winter. I wear pants and long sleeves, thus masking some coloured "memories" from sparring. World Shotokan Karate
BlackBeauty Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 yep, i often have bruises on my arms, thighs and shins (but not as many since i started wearing shin guards).....the sparring we do during training is supposed to be no contact but at times there is light contact....the only other injuries i get is a sore wrist (right now my right hand is strapped up and it's hard to use the mouse - bad for an IT professional like myself!).....i also have Chondromalacia Patella and have to ice my knees after every training session or they swell up... ==================http://come.to/BlackBeauty==================
