The kimchee I remember being made was done in the fall. It was cabbage mixed with seasonings and other stuff and placed in large crocks to pickle. And it smelled really foul in the making. In the country I saw crocks outside of the houses and in the cities I saw the crocks on rooftops.

Hey don't laught too hard have you ever smelled the stuff being made? I will never forget and that was something like 26 years ago. The whole ville reeked at kimchee making time.

wow that must have been something special! i have never smelt this stuff and im not sure if i want to, but it seems like something you can only believe it when you smell it.

well mike when my mom once made a whole bucket of the stuff she left it in the fridge in a container. but accidently she didn't close the container all the way. later when we opened up the fridge the whole kitchen smelt like fart. but the kimchi tasted good. smelling is believing! :D

It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
