Sid Vicious Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 i kickbox and am looking for something to crosstrain with. my problem is that i dont know what most styles do. is there a website where i can watch demonstrations so i can understand the different arts better?
KickChick Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Here are a few: http://www.kickboxing.com http://www.martialarts.com/martial-arts-styles/styles.htm http://www.martialartsinfo.com http://www.martialinfo.com/MartialMainFrame.htm The second link has a few sites listed with quicktime video clips as far as "watching" styles. You may want to rent some videos or go to your library to get some for viewing otherwise the sites I have listed have some pretty thorough information compiled on them.
JerryLove Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 Simply a video of the art in motion? I have some up at mine http://www.clearsilat.com/silat/Multimedia/index.htm https://www.clearsilat.com
Pacificshore Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 SV, I posted a URL for an American Kenpo site that had MPEG files showing some of their self defenses. I posted it under the General MA section. Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia

iolair Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Personally I'd advise adding a grappling art to round off your fighting style (Judo if you're sport-oriented, BJJ if you want an effective street style, Aikido if you like the idea of the martial-arts tradition). I did see a site a while ago with video files of a ton of Judo moves (I DLd them, so deleted the bookmark) - if I can find it again I'll post the URL Currently: Kickboxing and variants.Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing.
Noctaeon Posted January 21, 2003 Posted January 21, 2003 http://ninjitsu.com/video_gallery.html It is an ok instructional area of American Ninja (lol) But I very much so do respect sensei tew and I may even someday also train under him I have heard great things of him from 2 different masters and have great respect for him his program is not a cookie cutter program he really puts one on one work with you and they do teach alot of REAL ninja skill so if you do not have the luxury of a private instructor and are interested in Ninjitsu check it out Some nunchaku instruction videos on there also he has at home programs but I don't know if I buy the quality of those soo up to you just tryin to help And whatever art you do choose Enjoy it and guard it.
