G95champ Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 What if the attacker is nude? hahaha man that would be weird! This is why I like striking better. Really to depend on throws and grappeling for SD is ok but keep in mind to make them work you have to come into contact with the attacket. As opposed to striking where you can keep your distance. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
ZeRo Posted October 30, 2002 Posted October 30, 2002 i agree G95, but i am still more confident on the mat them on my feet.
Red J Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 Plus, if you are attacked it's on the attacker's terms, not yours. It's good to know how to "move" someone if they get in close. Also, you need to practice on people who are not wearing a gi because people on the street don't wear them. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
