KendraD Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I practise a style called Joshinmon Shorin-Ryu! Founded by Hoshu Ikeda, baced on the principles of Kyan. Has anyone ever heard of Joshinmon Shorin-Ryu? Does anyone else here practise it?
Zaine Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 First off, welcome to KF! I cannot say that I have heard of that style, can you tell us a little more about it? Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
Wastelander Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I've heard of it, and I'm certainly familiar with Kyan and his history, but I don't know too much other than that. How different is what you do to what the Zentokukai folks do? Harkon72 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I'd never heard of it, it sounds a little unorthodox; It claims to be Shorin Ryu, but it was founded in Tokyo, Japan. As most admit, Karatedo is Okinawan. I looked on You Tube, the techniques look like karate, but there is little hip in their action. It may be influenced by other than Shorin Ryu, I don't know. It may be a modern rendition, as Shukokai is of Shito Ryu but I'm only guessing. Look to the far mountain and see all.
bushido_man96 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I've not heard of the style, either. But, there are so many out there. Can you please fill us in a little more about it? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
