December 14, 201411 yr My wife thinks i'm crazy, but after many years of training I decided I wanted a nice uniform. Now that I have a few: 14 oz Bushido and 12 oz Meijen Pro. I want a silk belt. Can any of you share what brand you have/suggest and whats embroidered on it? I want Shotokan Karate-do in kanj on the left. Unsure of my name or blank on the right. So far I've looked at Hirota and Arawaza. The past is no more; the future is yet to come. Nothing exist except for the here and now. Our grand business is not to see what lies dimly at a distance, but to do what's clearly is clearly at hand...Lets continue to train!
December 14, 201411 yr Real silk belts are expensive, they are worth it because the best ones don't fray and they hold their shape. I had a satin belt, the thread didn't hold and the belt became discoloured after a while. It is worth the effort to find a good one because the material is softer and the quality makes a big difference. Good Luck. Look to the far mountain and see all.

Tokaido and shuriedo, made in Japan and Okinawa respectively, second to none. Pricing will be right around your budget, maybe a bit over but these are the best in the world, period.
