sensei8 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 This dojo is not like a dojo that one would imagine when one thinks on the word "dojo". This dojo is in Naha, Okinawa...and...it's "owned by a British guy" where patron's speak both Japanese and English.http://www.tsunagujapan.com/welcome-to-the-dojo-a-unique-bar-in-Okinawa/Try clicking on the very top/first banner!! **Proof is on the floor!!!
mazzybear Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Well, it's certainly different. Kinda cool actually. I think some folk would disagree with me tho, some see the dojo as almost sacrosanct. But I think it would be a great bar to go into and meet and discuss the MAs with people from all over the world, to get their views and theories on all sorts of things. If I ever make it to Okinawa, it's definitely on my list of places to go. Nice find, thanks for posting.Mo. Be water, my friend.
CredoTe Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I think that's the place that our director goes to every time he visits Okinawa to train at the WMKA headquarters. If I remember correctly, that place is next-door to the old Osensei Nagamine dojo (that closed, unfortunately...Nagamine dojo, that is). Many of the photos on The Dojo Bar's FB are of Matsubayashi-Ryu practitioners... Remember the Tii!In Life and Death, there is no tap-out...
CredoTe Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Yeah, looking at the photo that's posted in the article shared by Bob (photo at the bottom of the article with all the people out front of the bar), you can see the old Nagamine Osensei dojo in the far right edge of the photo...just barely visible. Remember the Tii!In Life and Death, there is no tap-out...

I wonder why Soke and/or Dai-Soke never took us there whenever we went to Okinawa with them?!? **Proof is on the floor!!!
