That awkward moment when

Well here is mine..

That awkward moment when Sensei calls out a block and swings his shinei(Not sure if spelled right) at you, and you misunderstand him and throw a different block and get hit in the face.

Can not wait to here some of your awkward moments.

That awkward moment when you try to do a stepping side kick and your opponent moves inside range. Hop awkwardly into them with your back partly turned.

That awkward moment when someone is crouching on your head trying to apply a joint lock and ends up passing wind...

It seems we both decided not to talk about it.

For me, it was during my black belt test. I've never been the most flexible guy, but when my legs get tired and heavy, it's worse. About 3.5 hours into it, I'm sparring 4 on 1. I got 2 attackers out, and I tried to kick one of the last 2 with a high kick, only to realize that my legs don't want to go that high. So my leg that was planted on the ground decided to unplant itself, and I fell on my head. And it happened twice! And it's all on film.

Of course, I got up and blamed it on a wet spot on the floor, like any grown man would do.

My most embarrassing moments came from same class. I was a 15 year old blue belt, & I brought my girlfriend to watch class. Gotta impress her, right? :D

My attention must have been elsewhere during line drills, when my master stopped class & asked me (in front of the whole class) "What are you thinking about, your girlfriend, or something? I turned red & she laughed. :x

Later that night, I decided I was going to put everything into a spinning crescent kick (that I'd only learned the week before & was terrible at) to a pad held by my partner. My foot went over the pad, but I lost my balance & I fell hard & hit my head on the indoor/outdoor carpet over concrete that was the floor. I was nearly knocked out.

Needless to say, she never came to class again.

 Haha! What a fun thread! I have too many possible entries so I'll just post two of my favorites.

That awkward moment when I am wearing a new gi that has a different tie than I'm used to... then after kicking a bag I stand up in shizentai and my pants fall around my ankles.

That awkward moment when I walk into the dojo late to find that everyone else is already meditating quietly in seiza... then as I try to quietly slip into the dressing room I catch my bag on a metal stretching machine, that as it is falling knocks over a weight rack, sending free-weights rolling loudly across the floor and one onto my foot, which results in my hopping around with my hand over my mouth like a cartoon. When I looked up every single person was staring at me. That was my first day at headquarters. I was called "the entertainment" for a while after that, as in: "Hey look guys, the entertainment has arrived!"

What I did was more dumb, than awkward, however, in the aftermath of it, I felt quite awkward for having done something so, well, stupid...

After 50 years, I've had my share of awkward and aha and stupid and then some moments. Some I vividly remember, and others, well, I'd rather forget them.
