shotochem Posted October 15, 2002 Posted October 15, 2002 Could anyone tell me the differences between a Judo gi and Karate gi? They look pretty similar as far as I can tell. How is the cut? Do they offer the same range of movement as a karate gi? I see they are very durable looking I am considering buying one for karate. Thanks in advance. ZeRo Posted October 15, 2002 Posted October 15, 2002 they have grab pads on the lappels and they are very durable, for all the rolling round on the floor. ive never tryed a karate gi on so im not really sure.

omnifinite Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 I think the pant legs and sleeves are shorter on a Judo gi, but I could be wrong. 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu
rabid hamster Posted October 16, 2002 Posted October 16, 2002 i read judo gis are made in much better quality then karate gis. It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.
shotochem Posted October 16, 2002 Author Posted October 16, 2002 Thanks for the info. If they are as durable as my heavy weight gi I give one a try. Are they cut loosly enough to kick and punch freely? Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
Karateka_latino Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 Hi, I wear a JudoGi for train.. and i can train all my kicks and punches very well with those pants.
Seth Posted October 17, 2002 Posted October 17, 2002 A judo-gi is your best choice for grappling. You can move around freely and have less risk of having your gi torn apart when being thrown around. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
