Wastelander Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Hello everyone,A friend of mine introduced me to the YouTube Channel for a Yin style Bagua group that has been uploading a lot of material over the past week from a training camp they recently did. I found the videos to be very interesting, and there were a lot of techniques with similarities to karate. Since some of you might find it interesting, I thought I would go ahead and share it here, as well. Enjoy!https://www.youtube.com/user/YSBinternational/videos Kishimoto-Di | 2014-Present | Sensei: Ulf KarlssonShorin-Ryu/Shinkoten Karate | 2010-Present: Yondan, Renshi | Sensei: Richard Poage (RIP), Jeff Allred (RIP)Shuri-Ryu | 2006-2010: Sankyu | Sensei: Joey Johnston, Joe Walker (RIP)Judo | 2007-2010: Gokyu | Sensei: Joe Walker (RIP), Ramon Rivera (RIP), Adrian RiveraIllinois Practical Karate | International Neoclassical Karate Kobudo Society
CredoTe Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Very cool video. I agree that there are some similarities in concepts with karate. For instance, one of the concepts/bunkai we teach for shuto uke (chudan or gedan) is to perform it with tenshin while moving just a hair off center line to redirect an opponent's attack/momentum. Remember the Tii!In Life and Death, there is no tap-out...
