wagnerk Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Disappointed with the US losing (after all they have a German manager - Jürgen Klinsmann who has had a very good career), especially with the improved playing.I'm still hoping Germany will win, however judging by how the other teams are playing, I believe we will only get to the semi-finals However here's to hoping Tang Soo Do: 3rd Dan '18Shotokan Karate: 2nd Dan '04
Hawkmoon Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 It seems to be a world cup for the under dogs, many/most of the bigger teams have gone home and lesser teams are through... not a bad tournament IMO makes for a nice change. “A human life gains luster and strength only when it is polished and tempered.”Sosai Masutatsu Oyama (1923 - 1994) Founder of Kyokushin Karate.
Archimoto Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 It seems to be a world cup for the under dogs, many/most of the bigger teams have gone home and lesser teams are through... not a bad tournament IMO makes for a nice change.I agree. However I saw this coming from the group draws - it's hard to believe it was completely random because most of the big teams were neatly lumped together. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but the draw was perfect for brasil and Argentina.By the way, I'm not anti futbol - as a matter of fact I follow it all year long including internationally at the club level. It's a beautiful sport. It's simply that this world cup's draw raised a few too many eye brows. To quote the great Bob Marley: "LOVE IS MY RELIGION"
Hawkmoon Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Please do not mis understand me, I'm not anti-footie, yes its true I much prefer Rugby, as I say less crying and more work. I'm happy to watch the national side compete, as much to do with national pride as it is to see the best of the best competing with each other! Its as you say truly beautiful to watch most times!...but I feel compelled to laugh (laugh so hard I to cry) at the antics of these grown men falling over and grazing there knees on the grass as another payers shadow feel across them!orgo somersaulting ...again...and again....and again...and again openly sobbing about the aerobatics when they final stop rolling that is!Its comical it truly is.. “A human life gains luster and strength only when it is polished and tempered.”Sosai Masutatsu Oyama (1923 - 1994) Founder of Kyokushin Karate.
