Patrick
Hey all,I'm about half way through this movie now, so I thought I'd start a thread to talk about it. I started watching it because I like Forest Whitaker a lot. Wikipedia has a good description:Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai is a 1999 American crime action film written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. Forest Whitaker stars as the title character, the mysterious "Ghost Dog", a hitman in the employ of the Mafia, who follows the ancient code of the samurai as outlined in the book of Yamamoto Tsunetomo's recorded sayings, Hagakure. Critics have noted similarities between the movie and Jean-Pierre Melville's 1967 film Le Samouraï.For those who are curious, the movie is currently on Netflix.I'm just past the part where he discovers that his shed and pigeon coop has been destroyed. I'll report back after I get to the end. Patrick Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com? sensei8
"The end is always important!" FW character was purposeful...right to the end. Nice movie; strange at times, yet, specific at others, while the movie moved, for me, quite slow on occasion, it's message was understood. Thanks for the heads-up on it, Patrick. **Proof is on the floor!!!
